Stop The Sugar Madness!

September 20, 2011 | Detox-Cleanse | No Comments »

According to Elson M. Haas, M.D., our intake of sweets is increasing! It is unfortunate because we don’t take the time to read labels!! Reading labels are just as important as reading the paper, financial report, etc. Did you know that the yearly intake of corn sweeteners has gone from about 20 pounds a person to 80 pounds (and it’s climbing).

Dr. Haas states that reducing sweeteners in our diet is positive step each of us can take. It requires an effort, but reducing our dietary load of sugar and sweeteners is paramount for our health and the health of our children.

There are nutrients that help reduce sugar cravings and the symptoms of sugar withdrawal:
1. B vitamins
2. Vitamin C
3. Zinc
4. Chromium (trace mineral)
5. L-glutamine (amino acid)

Let’s make a conscious decision to begin eliminating our daily intake of sugar.

Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll rich foods…wheatgrass, algae, seaweeds, and green vegetables.

Chlorophyll has been shown to build red blood cells quickly, normalize blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways though out the body, destroy poisonous carbon dioxide, release free oxygen and promote higher metabolism and stimulated enzyme systems. On top of all of these benefits, consuming chlorophyll from wheatgrass is a highly effective way to alkalize the blood and energize the body! Vitamins C, B12, B6, A, K, and folic acid are among the nutrients needed to keep blood healthy. Chlorophyll found in food may stimulate the production of red blood cells in bone marrow. Chlorophyll has been shown to help protect against cancer and certain forms of  radiation, to kill germs, and to act as a powerful wound healer.

Wheatgrass juice builds blood. The chlorophyll molecule in wheatgrass is almost identical to the haemoglobin molecule in human blood. The only difference is that the central element in chlorophyll is magnesium and in haemoglobin it is iron. Due to this inherent similarity the human body can easily transform chlorophyll into haemoglobin increasing the red blood cell count as well as the blood’s capacity to deliver oxygen and other nutrients to the body’s cells.

Lemon Juice

March 31, 2011 | Detox-Cleanse | No Comments »

Did you know that lemon juice contains more citrus acid than any other citrus fruit, and is high in vitamin C? These two factors combined makes lemon juice an excellent cleanser. Remember that the juice of a lemon tastes so acidic, it should never be drunk on its own, and should be diluted with water or other juices. Drinking a glass of diluted lemon juice first thing in the morning is an excellent way to start the day because it helps cleanse and tonify your digestive system.
